There’s a reason I didn’t title this post as my “Beet It Juice“, although I wanted to, badly.
Beets are kind of like that kid in the back of your 4th grade class, picking his nose and giving zero f’s about it.
Although they seem like an acquired taste, and some cringe at the thought of them, they pack a huge nutritional punch, and can actually taste great!
So today, I bring to you, my faithful and loving friends, my favorite “Beet It Juice.”
Beets are low in cals, low in fat, packed with fiber, folate and Vitamin B. Folate is great for lowering your risk of cardiovascular disease, is great for your hair, oh and is perf for expecting Mom’s, as it has been proven to decrease the risk of spinal birth defects in babes. Beets are also high in potassium, which helps lower blood pressure! Attn: all you stress balls out there, this one’s for you!
Whether you hate (or love) beets, I promise this smoothie will please your pallet and bring your body a much needed burst of nutritious energy!
Ingredients: 3 Beets, 5-8 carrot sticks, 1 apple, strawberries, ginger, and a handful of spinach.
