Thanksgiving is OFFICIALLY one week away (WTF?!) and if you haven’t already, now is the time to start thinking about this year’s ensemble.

It seems far too limiting and slightly unfair to only include five items this week on the top five, so I have come up with five different Thanksgiving looks to get you in the mood to start styling your wardrobe now!

Oh, and if you don’t have all of these items, it will also give you time to buy for that perfect fit..

Hehehe :)

(Mouse over pictures to see pricing info and click to go directly to the item link!)

1. The Frisky Feather

This look is all glam with a little festivity in the feathers.  Take your favorite faux leather pant, pair with a simple yet interesting white tee, layer this amazing fur jacket over the top and these incredible feathered heels for $108…. Such a steal.

Perfect for: A Friendsgiving or Fancy Affair

2. The Plaid Pilgrim

As you can see from the picture, this look is all about the plaid skirt.  This full hip hugging skirt is made for a sweet crop top like this one.  Anchor with a strong black boot and overcoat and sparkle with just the right drop earrings for an elegant touch.

Perfect for: Small intimate family gatherings

3. The Bodacious Voyager

This ensem is all boho and all sass.  Every lady should invest in a good layering dress such as this one, layer a huge, comfy sweater over the top, dazzle with a little jeweled halo and give yourself a lift with these Jeffrey Campbell heels.  Oh, and of course the bag is worth every damn penny for something so fab ($98?? Done.)

Perfect for: The Multi-Family Thanksgiving Run Around

4. The Festive Foliage

If you have not yet purchased a For Love & Lemons piece, now is your chance! The perfect fall dress, paired with a cute around the neck gold chain for a touch of glam,a soft and furry clutch for a little fun and of course, some sassy sunnies.

Perfect for: An evening celebration

5. The Meet the Parents

If this is your first Thanksgiving meeting the parents, allow me to give you a little bit of unsolicited advice: BE YOU.  Don’t dress any kind of way that they won’t see you dress like again.  Make sense? That’s not to say go with a super sheer top with your cleavage busting out all over the place (totes inappropriate), but if you want to wear something a little on the funky side (ie: a faux fur jacket, leopard print heels, even a tasteful long sleeved crop)..  I say God Bless.  They’ll love you for you, just like your partner does. :)

Perfect for: Meeting the Parents

“I’m grown up, but I’m not like a grown up. I mean, I wear a turtle neck, but I don’t wear a beige turtle neck.”

If you haven’t checked out Candidly Nicole featuring the Queen Nicole Richie, I highly recommend. Hilarity at its finest. Beyond that, not sure if you’ve heard, but it’s most def summer, and I’m totally in love with the weekends.  Think twinkle lights, slow dinners, big salads, golden ales, nude open toed shoes and pink nails. Oh, and btw, huge sunnies, gold jewels, big rings and top knots. Totally in LOVE with this season. Wish it could never end.

Here are my top faves for this weekend, pick up a few and let’s get on this summer vibe together.

1. Turning Up Sweatshirt

Top1This is quite possibly the most amazing thing I’ve seen, ever. Or at least this week. I’m thinking throw this on over those white shorts in the evening for a chill backyard BBQ, or straight up be the hottest bey showing up to morning yoga.

2. RVCA Rosy Fruits Fedora

Top2I’m not opposed to completely styling a look around this hat, because it’s that versatile, and that chic. Let’s walk through these scenarios. First- bike around town with your fedora, FREECITY Nature white tee and patterned shorts. Keep it simple and sweet for this casual morning ride.  Saturday night out to your favorite urban restaurant with your ladies, style with a chic all black ensemble, black shoes (on sale right now-FTW), all monochromatic with a touch of gold jewelry.  Now, let’s take this baby poolside for your Sunday morning homemade brunch. You’ll feel sexy and sweet in your bikini, ultra comfy and hot kimono (flawless, btw), Cynthia Vincent sandals and duh- your fedora. #Obsessed

3. Kimchi Ruffled Dress

top3This dress I stumbled upon while online shopping (I know, shocker). It delivers all that you could ever want in a fun and flirty, summer approved sundress. It’s straight up floral pattern satisfies my femme side to the max, and let’s be real the price tag is an easy no brainer. Into the cart you go! :) Buy here.

4. Arlo Destroyed Boyfriend Jean

top4I love that we have some how taken the love for jean in the 90’s (ie: high waisted/low waisted, boyfriend, distressed), and ended up in 2014 with the DESTROYED boyfriend jean from Free People (free shipping over $100, with these jeans you’re already there. Done & done). It’s relaxed, it’s sexy, and it’s hanging low. I love this because a lot of different body types could pull this off. It’s relaxed enough to be dressed up or dressed down, and it’s totally sexy. Buy here.

5. Mesh Skirt

top5Forget what you’ve ever heard about white, it’s so bad@$s, I can’t even explain.  I have white dresses, white shoes, white pants, white shorts, and I will wear them in winter, spring, summer, fall. (Zero you know what’s given). This skirt is literally the only piece you need to start your white collection, if you haven’t already. Pair with a black crop OR go monochromatic because let’s face it- hot. Buy here.

Have a great weekend babes! Let me know your favorites from today and what you have planned for the weekend!

photo 9 Give me a little sunshine and a few hours of nothing on the schedule, and who knows where I may end up.. Exhibit A- this past weekend. I had another three day weekend to look forward to and what did I decide to do? Make it a four day and take a little trip to the town of Sonoma (cheers to a flexible work week).

photo 4

You may recall that I was just in Napa two weeks ago- exploring the wineries, making friends, eating glorious food, but we never ventured to Sonoma on that trip.. What a tragedy, what an oversight, so much so- I had to fix it. After finding the perfect lodge to lay our head, my girlfriend and I jumped in my little car and headed for a couple more days in wine country.

Getting dressed for our adventure was easy; I wanted something flirty, comfortable and fun to wear. I went for a drop waist dress with a galaxy print by MADE for Impulse that I snagged recently. I adore the higher neckline and the sleeveless cut on this dress. In case I caught a chill, I threw a Free People linen moto jacket over it and paired the look with my favorite leather booties. To pull it all together, I topped it off with my new favorite cap from Offical Crown of Laurel.

Ask and you shall receive. This amazing printed hat caught my eye at a spot in midtown, where I spotted a man wearing it. I immediately asked him where he got it, how can I get one, yada-yada and lucky for me, he is part of the Official Brand team! My new friend and I got to talking about this brand, the style behind it, the intricate details of each cap, and he gave me a couple of styles to rock for myself! (Total score).

This cap is totally hot with a lime green background, a fun print, and a bamboo logo. I love the effortless skater meets California living style that the Official Brand brings. They’re young, they’re fresh, and I love it.

Official Brand is available online here, and sold in stores internationally, including our own Heritage Footwear and Apparel, Kitson and many other stores in CA. They offer flat bill hats, beanies, t-shirts, jackets and other hot merch. Check out their blog here and their story here. You won’t be sorry.

This Style File was shot at our very first stop on the trip- Cornerstone Gardens. Cornerstone is the home of a series of beautiful gardens, art installations, tasting rooms and restaurants, right outside of Sonoma. As you can see, I had a ton of fun with this one- beautiful grounds, fun fit, and a little bit of wine, yes. ;)

Stay Official, babes.
