Good Morning Bb’s!

Happy Thursday!! In case you forgot/are trying to ignore the holly jolly music everywhere you go.. We are only TWO little weeks away from Christmas!!! (My fave holiday ever!) I’ve been super on top of Christmas this year.  Ie: decking the halls, hanging twinkly lights, lighting yummy candles, singing carols, you know- bugging the hell out of my fam/friends.. Nbd..

Tangent- why the f do I feel like I need a bigger house every year around Christmas?! Like can I buy every decoration known to man?? Not without more storage, beezy… (This is an internal struggle).

Anyway- HOLIDAY GIFTS!

This year I have been super duper down with online shopping.  No, I did not brave the insane crowds the day after Thanksgiving. I opted instead to shop from my iPhone, glass of wine in hand by the fire.  Sorry not sorry I’ll stay at home. For me, the deals are online and I search EVERYWHERE for them.  So in case you are not Miss (or Mister) Shop-A-Holic Online Addict (like me), I have curated some AMAZING gift guides for you this year! Over the next couple of weeks, keep checking back for info about killer sales, and my little guides to help you get this gift giving thang done!

Bonjour mon amour!

It’s a beautiful day and I am feeling the love from all of you! I love reading your e-mails whether it’s you sharing stories, commenting on a post, or asking a question, it is SO COOL to hear your unique views on my little bloggy posts.  Always feel free to drop me a note, I reply to all of them as soon as I can!!

This week’s top five is allllll about a special holiday coming up— Memorial Day!!!

Although Memorial Day is a day for solemn remembrance, it is also a day to celebrate the lives of those who passed in our armed forces, and to get together with family and loved ones.  So here’s to a little patriotic love!

1. Spiked Lemonade

1

Summer holidays mean one very important activity in my world….. BBQ‘s, and what better compliment to an outdoor extravaganza than a little adult bevvie action? Lemonade is a great refreshing option and with a little buzz to help you beat the heat. Know what I mean? ;)

Recipe found here.

2. Float On

2

Before you get into some grill time with your friends and fam, try heading out for a little jaunt on the river, lake or beach nearest to you!  Rent a kayak, hop on a river boat cruise, float down the river in a raft or take a ride on a smaller boat.  Whichever you choose, pile on the SPF, load up the cooler and get to some real R&R time this Memorial day.

3. Happy & Free

3

This Memorial Day weekend, my style & spirit of choice is to go easy, comfortable and free.  A short sleeveless dress, a deep v-neck caftan, or a pair of linen shorts with a flowy tank, is what I’ll be living in.  Throw in a floppy hat and a some layered necklaces, that’s all you need babes.

4. Cheesecake Shooters

4

I’ll start by saying one important thing about this recipe…. YUM!! For a beyond easy dessert option for your celebration this weekend, try these super delicious cheesecake shooters.  They’re as simple as it gets with all the thrill of a full on NY Cheesecake.  Go guilt free with extra berries and low fat cool whip/cream cheese! Yesss.

5. DIY Flower Power

A long weekend means extra time to get to those extra fun projects you’ve been eying!  Case in point, DIY mason jar, anything.  This project is easy and fits right in with the fresh vibe of summer.  Try this DIY tutorial for an easy and fun project this coming weekend!

Hellooooooooo babes!

It’s Thursday!!! Yes, over the top excitement over seemingly normal concepts is my thing.  Thursdays have recently become one of my favorite days of the week because great things always happen on Thursdays! One of those great things being… OUR TOP FIVE!

Woo woo!

1. Back to the Basics

1

Trends are fun, I never miss a chance to throw some flavor in the mix but sometimes the best option is to go with the basics.  Take this tip from one of my faves, The Glamourai. In a recent post, The Glamourai throws on dark blue jeans, a white shirt and a classic nude pump. She looks totally chic without being over styled or overdone. Her short curly hair and attitude make this look a total win. You go, girl.

2. Ice Cream & Flowers

2

I don’t know what it is, but I have been craving frozen yogurt, and ice cream almost every damn dizzay since the temps hit 80. I have only indulged once twice, but my will is weakening every time I drive past a Pinkberry.. Le sigh. Uber talented photographer, Parker Fitzgerald is not helping with my obsession by bringing us a fab shoot for Kinfolk Magazine with beautiful pictures of ice cream and flowers. I love the photos, they are gorgeous and springy, and totally making me think, yet again, of ice cream. Mmmm. :)

3. Salmon Cobb Salad

3

Just a couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to spend a few days in one of my favorite California coast side towns on vacation.  There isn’t much to do in this town, it’s pretty small and mellow, so my days were filled with long walks on the beach, photographing beautiful sites, eating delicious meals and enjoying fantastic wines, I know, rough.  While I was there, I had three dinners that really stood out.

IMG_1919My favorite restaurant ever, looks out over the ocean and serves a to die for tuna salad. (above)

IMG_1964The second dinner was grilled fish and chips, a healthier option for the classic favorite. (above)

IMG_2024And the third, a shrimp and crab louie salad. (above) I am really happy that I was able to sample these different types of fish, all fresh and local, and all completely delicious. Now that I’m back from the ocean, I am craving fish all the time! I can’t wait to try this Salmon Cobb Salad recipe from the Realistic Nutritionist. It looks like the perfect summer salad- easy, fresh and light.

4. DIY Rope Words

4

Where are my DIY folks at?!? This one’s for youuu! DIY Rope Words. I personally LOVE DIY projects (when I can get organized enough to actually do them), and I think this one is perfect for some summer fun. Whether you’re ready to get hitched or just planning some fun photos in the grass with your fam, this is a great way to bring it up a notch. DIY tutorial found here.

 5. Mirror Mirror on the Wall

5

Many of us have wonderful little collections that we would LOVE to display. Everything from frames to pictures to heirlooms, dolls, and all the cutesy things in between.  Currently, I have many photos I’ve taken that I am working on getting framed, and will be sectioning off a place to finally display them.  Sure, I want them hung and looking pretty, but sometimes we need a little inspiration- ie: Cupcakes and Cashmere.  In this post, they give us the how-to on displaying a collection of mirrors to incorporate all shapes and sizes in one neat looking display. Gorg, don’t ya think? Check it out here.

The beautiful and talented Diane Von Furstenberg has done it again, and this time, for the babies.  You may recall the fab DVF for Gap Kids collection last year- full of bright colors, gorgeous florals, mini wrap dresses (I mean, really? HOW CUTE), and so much more. This collection is no different, completely fresh, fun, adorable and totally DVF.   12 3

Head over to Gap now for some cuteness overload and buy your baby girl a new fit, she deserves it. ;)
